Santa Fe Days in the Park

14th Annual SANTA FE DAYS in the Park – FUN, FANTASTIC, FAMILY-FRIENDLY Event FEATURING two days of interactive festivities for the whole community.  Celebrating Native American Indian culture through jewelry, crafts, dance, music, food, games, seminars, story-telling and hands-on teaching from respected educators in our Traditional knowledge.


This nonprofit event is brought to you by the Indigenous Institute of the Americas and features over 70 American Indian artists from at least 40 Nations, Championship Plains Indian and Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli Aztec dancers with Master of Ceremonies- Harold Rogers (Navajo/Diné) Head Singer – Lance Tahchawwickah (Comanche/Nʉmʉnʉʉ) and Host Drum – Str8 South.

Exciting 2018 featured artists, Tony Duncan, (San Carlos Apache Arikara, Hidatsa)- five-time world championship Hoop Dancer, internationally recognized flute player, composer and winner of the 2013 Native Artist of the Year award by the Native American Music Awards.  Equally talented, Violet Duncan (Plains Cree and Taino), 1st runnerup for Miss Indian World 2012, championship Fancy Shawl dancer and author of two incredible children’s books, When We Dance and Hoop Dance. Violet and Tony will be conducting dance workshops, performances and storytelling. Please do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity for your family.

Our Courtyard Marriott Cultural Path tent will lead you to Violet Duncan where she will be signing her books at the Native Perspectives- Open our ears, listen and look to our ancestors, literary exhibition and resource table.  We will be highlighting children’s books by Native authors.  Come browse our resources.   This is your opportunity to ask the questions you have always wanted to ask that might benefit your school resources on Native culture. 

“Cherish Turtle Island” brings all new meaning with the support of our turtle protector, herpetologist   Michaela Muliuolis from Curious Turtle, a non-profit education outreach for turtles and tortoises.  Learn about the lessons turtle brought to the people the Americas.

Opening ceremony, Saturday, March 17, 2018.  Line up at 10:15 am at the main stage. We are honoring all veterans and tribal flags.  Native Color Guard, Renegade Nation welcomes all veterans and color guards to join them for this powerful event.

On Sunday, March 18th, 2018 join Marika Alvarado, traditional herbalist, for a tree medicine knowledge walk at 11:30am and 1:30pm at Sandy Lake Amusement Park.
